The TL encourages teachers to set up Classroom WebPages on the intranet, to facilitate efficient Internet research. After the school was MOEd last term, the Classroom WebPages had to be rebuilt in the new version of SharePoint.

In 2008 I established virtual classrooms for each year level, and worked with teachers to customise the virtual classrooms to match their current units of work. Most teachers used the virtual classrooms to provide easy access to weblinks. In 2009, I expanded the contents of the virtual classrooms to incude document libraries, image galleries, discussion boards. In 2010, teachers were given design access to their year level's virtual classroom so that they could customise the appearance of their virtual classrooms.

In 2008, I constructred a virtual library for teachers to assist them in locating online resources and information for their students. In 2009 the virtual library was used to support the implementation of OneSchool. The HOC also used a page of the virtual library to encourage the prep teachers to share their experiences using BeeBots. The IT technician used another page to provide teachers with IT tips. The GEMS coordinator set up a page to provide access to resources for gifted and taleneted students.

Prior to 2009, to compensate for a dwindling non-fiction collection, staff encouraged students to access non-fiction books from Council libraries or borrowed bulk loans of relevant books from Council libraries themselves.

The TL also keeps a small collection of artefacts related to the school’s history in an ancient and dilapidated suitcase.

To make these resources more readily available to teachers and students, I have scanned the photos and created a set of directories on the school network.

To promote this collection I have uploaded some of the photos to the teachers’ virtual library on our intranet.
